Participation and Scholarship Eligibility

Version 1 · Published 2026-10-27

1. Directory and awards A business must fit the published geographic area and category and provide accurate identifying information. Directory inclusion alone does not establish licensing, an endorsement or an award. Regulated businesses remain responsible for their required authorizations. We may request proportionate evidence, correct classifications, combine duplicate entries or remove an ineligible entry with a documented reason. Payment is not an eligibility criterion. An authorized representative must complete verification before controlling a business profile.

2. Scholarship applicants Scholarships serve Georgia residents pursuing an in-demand career through an eligible training program. Apply during a published round and provide a truthful county of residence, selected program and goals statement. One application per applicant per round is considered. Do not provide sensitive financial, health or identity documents through the general form. The application is not a purchase, a federal financial-aid application or a guarantee of an award. A parent or guardian must participate where the applicant lacks legal capacity for an award acceptance or school authorization.

3. Student choice and school/program verification The student selects the school. It must be authorized by the relevant state to provide the selected program, or lawfully exempt where an exemption applies; accreditation, marketing claims and a business registration are not interchangeable with that authorization. The exact program must also have verified current Pell or Workforce Pell eligibility and an identified in-demand career connection. A pending application for federal or state approval is not an eligible program. School authorization and program eligibility are separate checks. Applicants need not already receive a Pell Grant. A student may ask us to verify an otherwise eligible school/program not yet listed. Selection is not limited to an operator-affiliated school, and choosing another eligible school does not reduce a student's evaluation score. The committee does not determine federal Pell eligibility. These are private scholarships, not federal grants.

4. Award amount, enrollment and payment A funded round states its application dates, available award amounts or limits, and any program-specific eligibility conditions before applications open. No application fee or purchase is required. Awards depend on available scholarship funds and the published selection criteria. An award is paid directly to the eligible school selected by the recipient for verified tuition, required fees or required program materials charged by that school. It is not paid as cash to the student and cannot exceed eligible unpaid charges. The recipient must authorize necessary enrollment/payment verification and promptly report changes. School payment instructions must be independently verified. The school applies funds to the recipient's account; the scholarship does not guarantee admission, licensure, employment or a particular financial-aid outcome.

5. Changes, withdrawals and unused money Before payment, a recipient may request a different school or program that meets the same eligibility requirements. The committee documents the change and confirms the continuing amount and eligibility; there is no automatic transfer to an ineligible program. If the recipient does not enroll, withdraws or no longer has eligible charges, the unpaid portion is withheld or cancelled after reviewing the facts. The school must return an unused refundable scholarship balance to Mychoice Awards LLC for the scholarship fund under the award/payment terms, rather than refunding it as cash to the student. Mandatory law and the school's applicable refund obligations remain controlling. A recipient is not automatically personally liable merely because a school refund is pending.

6. Equal treatment and truthful records Decisions must use the same published criteria, without unlawful discrimination, paid influence or preference for an affiliated school. Materially false information may lead to denial or cancellation after documented review. An applicant may request correction of a factual error through support. Public use of a recipient's name, photograph or personal story requires separate permission and is not a condition of applying.
